Source The CoreReader development environment includes several instances of Axlebase running in production capacities.
Running With AxleBase The AxleBase documentation is published at http://www.AxleBase.com/ Although AxleBase needs no data socket, it must be installed on the computer. Since CoreReader has an embedded AxleBase for its own database, it was allowed to handle ad hoc queries in the past. That is no longer allowed. To protect the CoreReader database, ad hoc queries now use the publicly shared AxleBase as a data socket. Only two things are needed for a connection; the name of the database and the path to the domain. They can be in a connection string or entered as parameters. An AxleBase database always has a domain controller. In the server name box, enter the complete path to the domain database. Enter the database name in the database name box. ( Enter nothing in the path text box. ) The examples include AxleBase connections. Select the CoreReader example to get its parameters. Then change the name of the connection. The new connection will then connect to CoreReader's internal database. (You should make a backup of the database before doing this.) If an AxleBase query feature is still under construction it will return a message to that effect. The AxleBase objective is the ANSI-92 SQL standard. Some deviations are due to growing pains, and will be corrected later. The confusing parameter called "numeric data typing" should be left off for enterprise level servers and for AxleBase. This setting usually provides best query results, but may need to be turned on for some queries.
